SMTP Problems

    Hi everyone... did anyone of you who hat SMTP problems in Debian Sarge get this anoying problem fixed to satisfactory... i have gone to every thread here in the forum to get it fixed i even redone my box serveral times know that i realy know it by heart but every time i do the postfix stuff i can not send out email from any of my clients and i mean a lot of them...etc... Outlook 2000/03
    The Bat, Thunderbird, Incredible Mail, Outlook Express and so on anyone has an idea what it will be...

    Yes, I fixed problems with SMTP on Debian Sarge 3.1

    half of the problems were caused by my ISP not by ISPConfig nor Debain.

    Just follow my posts, there is one whole thread about it. Same smtp problems were on Fedora and Debian.

    And...

    As Falko use to say:

    "Follow tutorial to the letter...!"

    P.S. be sure that you apply all of the mentioned in tutorials. There is one debian package script in which is not correct, so better choice is actually to copy and paste script / config file from Falko's tutorial. Or compare config file / script on your server with example in Falko's tutorial VERY carefully. Especially for saslauthd.

    PostScript:

    You can even delete and then create new /etc/init.d/saslauthd by copying it from tutorial. Works for me.

    i have done this several times with out luck...

    any other ideas that i could try

    yes, for the begining please describe your smtp problems in details.
