smtp relay access denied

    Hi all
    After a long work I managed to connect to my mail server and to receive mail on it. However, when I try to send mails, I have this answer : Relay access denied. The strage thing is that I can send email to myself...
    Do you have a clue?

    Enable smtp authentication in your mail client.

    Yes I did it already... but thunderbird is even not asking for my password. do I need to do a secured authentification?

    Ok I'm nut. I deleted and created again the account an now it's working...
