Hi, as the title suggests, I have problems with the mail server, the smtp server is offline, I have consulted many discussions on this forum but I have not been able to solve it, in fact when I try to send an email I get the error "SMTP error ( -1): Connection to server failed. " the systems are ISPConfig 3.2.1 on debian 10, I publish the mail log: Code: Nov 24 19:31:20 server postfix/postfix-script[20409]: fatal: cannot execute /usr/sbin/postconf! Thanks for your help..
Start with this: https://www.howtoforge.com/community/threads/please-read-before-posting.58408/ Then, what shows: Code: systemctl --state=failed Code: systemctl status postfix.service
what does Code: ls -l /usr/sbin/postconf show? can you run 'postconf' as root, or get an error? sounds like you might have to reinstall the postfix package, or maybe apparmor is interfering?

I did provide suggestion, but for some unfathomable reason you have ignored it. It was in message #2, after What shows ... If those do not reveal what is wrong, try Code: systemctl start postfix.service to see error messages why postfix does not start. Same for possible other services that have not started.
I ran the command in the terminal but it doesn't seem to return any errors, but the server is always offline Code: root@server:~# systemctl start postfix.service root@server:~# Mail-Warn - Log Code: Nov 25 06:25:03 server postfix/postqueue[11208]: warning: Mail system is down -- accessing queue directly
Another suggestion was to see if when you run postconf manually if it works or errors. That's curious there's nothing in mail.log if starting it fails. You might check the mail.err and other log files (messages, syslog or daemon). Also try to "stop" the service, then "start" it. It would be worth a shot to just reboot.
I tried to execute these commands Code: root@server:~# less /var/log/mail.warn Nov 22 00:08:02 server postfix/postqueue[19358]: warning: Mail system is down -- accessing queue directly Nov 22 00:10:02 Which manual changes have you done to master.cf and main.cf file? Can you post both files? If you don't remember, force an update and choose reconfigure services (at least for postfix and dovecot)
master.cf Code: root@server:~# less /etc/postfix/master.cf # # Postfix master process configuration file. You can do this by running a forced updated and choosing yes for reconfigure services: Code: ispconfig_update.sh --force
I just did it but nothing has changed ... Code: Reconfigure Services? (yes,no,selected) [yes]: Configuring Postfix Configuring Dovecot Configuring Mailman Configuring Spamassassin Configuring Amavisd Configuring Getmail Configuring BIND Configuring Pureftpd Configuring Apache Configuring vlogger Configuring Apps vhost Configuring Jailkit Configuring Ubuntu Firewall Configuring Database Updating ISPConfig ISPConfig Port [8080]: Create new ISPConfig SSL certificate (yes,no) [no]: Reconfigure Crontab? (yes,no) [yes]: Updating Crontab Restarting services ... Update finished. root@server:~#
ok I solved it, for those who will have the same problem as me, I modified the master.cf file leave 2 spaces in front of -o, I restarted postefix and now I send and receive emails regularly, but with a few seconds of delay is it possible to solve this?
Yes, there must be at least one whitespace in front of the -o lines, as shown in perfect server install guide. Emails get scanned, so it's normal that there is a short delay.
