Hi Friends, after the move to new hardware, i am thinking about, whether it is desireable to run my own administrative dns server for my domains. Until now i didn't run my own one. Have my dns registries managed through inwx. What is the main advantage of doing so? Just more comfortable to stay in one web interface for config changes? Is there a risk? If there's a problem with the own administrative dns server, are the lookups performed on the next one available? (i would run only one primary on, anyway) Thanks for your advice Daniel
The pro's are that you often have more freedom in settings, there are more records available, and you can access it from one UI. Cons are that you need to run a redundant DNS setup, which can cost you more money and time to maintain.
So, it doesn't make too much sense running a single server setup as adminstrative DNS for my domains. Correct?
