some conceptual questions

    Hi,

we are currently evaluating a couple of CPs, among them ISPConfig 2 & 3.

After making a test installation of ISPConfig3 in order to get my feet wet enough to understand wether it fits our requirements, I found a couple of questions that I am not able to answer myself, so if someone could offer some enlightenment, I would be very grateful :)

#1 client templates vs. resellers no1
When resellers add their own clients, they don't seem to be able to choose any of the admin created client templates? Is that correct or just some settings error on my side?

#2 client templates vs. resellers no2
If I understand it correctly, resellers cannot create their own client templates - is that correct? That is only possible in ISPConfig2?

#3 limiting the "modules" that clients see
Our servers are not intended to offer any email or DNS services. Is there a default way to turn off the visibility of the "email", "DNS" or any other, arbitrary module? The only way I could find was to manually edit each client in the "CP users" module (or hack the backend PHP code, but that does not seem very update-friendly).

#4 hiding site options from clients
for example, is there a way to hide the "SSL" checkbox or disallow SSI per default?

    # "additional" templates vs. "main templates"
even after studying the buyable ispconfig manual, I did not find a clue what the "additional" templates are for and when they are applied.

Thanks in advance for any insights you provide!

    Udo

    1) Thats correct.
    2) yes.
    3) See default modules setting in config file /usr/local/ispconfig/interface/lib/config.inc.php
    4) No.
    5) Additional templates are "options" that get added to the main template. If your main template has 5 mailboxes and you create an additional template with 3 mailboxes and you apply this additional template to the client with a 5 mailboxes main template, then this client has 8 mailboxes in total. You see this reflected in the client limits too.
