Hi, I'm new to ISP Config and just i installed it the first time in a VM. I want to switch from my current panel to another, and ISPConfig is in my opinion too. Now, some Questions during my tests: 1. Subdomains ? How to create subdomains which have an own webfolder. I could create a subdomain and direct it to another domain and so... but no directories are created to maintain... 2. I created an Reseller and a Customer. For the Customer I created a web. Now i want to create a second web for that customer, but by clicking on save it shows the message that I can only add 0 Users and 0 Domains. But the summary shows: Created webs: 1 from 100, Users: 0 from 100. The trash is empty What could be the problem? 3. The changes which are made with ISPConfig. Do they happen immediatly? 4. I often need to reload the frame, e.g. if i delete a customer it's still shown in the tree (although the screen seems to reload). If I manually refresh the frame, the customer disappear... Is that a normal behaviour? 5. What is the Administration > SystemConfig > Settings > Common Tab for? It's empty in my installation. 6. Do i need some kind of nameserver for internal routing? My Domains are managed by 2 different NS, not need to be managed from ISP Config. 7. Where does ISP Config saves created vhosts? Couldn't find it at the first look. 8. Am I right that the Installers (e.g. Typo3) are in the dev branch? 9. Is there a way to switch in another users Interface? (This i saw often in other CP's.) Perhaps it's not needed, cause all can be done by the admin... 10. What is the advantages/disadvantages of using your packages for phpmyadmin e.g. than doing it with the paket manager in debian? Hope getting some answeres! Regards, Alexander
Create a new website for the subdomain. Set the domain limit of the reseller to a higher number. No. It takes about 30 seconds. Works for me. For future functions. No. /var/www, /srv/www or the directory that you had choosen during install. There is just one installer for typo3, and thats in the dev branch as its not heavily tested. Not nescessary, all functions are available dependant on the login level. Ours will work with ISPConfig, the debian pacakges will not work with ISPConfig.
Accounts or domains? Thats a difference. Tyr to set the limit to a higher number. The config file is in /etc/apache2/vhosts/Vhost_ispconfig.conf Never edit this file manually. The package for ISPConfig installs under the controlpanel server on port 81. The debian pacakge will be working in general, but you will not be able to access it.
Okay. I found my failure. The Reseller could create 100 Users and Domains. I created 1 domain for the client and set users to 100. So the reseller could'nt add more users/domains... Thank you for your time! Great tool!
