Hi, I use ISPconfig with clamav. My spam filter is active. But still I'm bombed with tones of spam emails. The scenario is this: Someone send an email from [email protected] (my real email address) to [email protected] (any fake address) and mailer daemon send me an info email that mailbox doesn't exist. Is it a problem in my configuration? Thanks for your help.
Most likely it is not related to your server configuration. Check your mail.log file, if the outgoing emails that use your email address as from address are nots end from your server, then you just receive the boiunce back from other spam senders that misuse your address as from address. There is not much that you can do against that. You can e.g. add a spf records in dns for your domain to make it easier for other servers to filter out the spam, but you will still receive the bounce emails.
