On my workstation at home I use fetchmail to get e-mails from servers, and exim4 as MTA. On my old computer spamassassin and bogofilter work and mails are filtered. Old computer is Debian Jessie. New is Debian Stretch. I have not found what is different in the setup. On new computer mails are not filtered, the header lines Spamassassin adds are not in the mails. I have enabled spamassassin with systemctl, installed exim4-daemon-heavy instead of the light version. I have read what documentation I can find in the Interwebs, but I can not see what is different between these two hosts in e-mail setup. Testing spamassassin on the command line shows it is working. I believe the problem is mail does not go through spamassassin. What configuration accomplishes this? I am also open to other suggestions, boundary condition is fetchmail gets the e-mails and then they should be arriving in my ~/Maildir sorted to good email and SPAM folders.
Why dont you send some spam mails with spammi subject something like: XJS*C4JDBQADN1.NSBN3*2IDNEN*GTUBE-STANDARD-ANTI-UBE-TEST-EMAIL*C.34X and see the spamassasin behaviour in the Server logs.
Because mail is not going to Spamassassin, there is nothing in the logs about spamassassin when mail arrives. And I have plenty of example spam messages coming in every day.
