Squid - Allowing Domain Admins to Bypass the proxy

    Hi all,

I have set up a Squid proxy server with DansGuardian content filtering on our network. It runs on Ubuntu 8.10 "Intrepid Ibex" and is tied to our Windows 2003 domain. All our users currently run Windows XP. Currently we forward users through it by setting the proxy in Group Policy for Internet Explorer. This all works fine but we want the proxy to sit directly between our network and the outside world rather than just forwarding users through it (as a proxy should). The intent being we want to ensure that users plugging in their own laptops for example still go through the proxy server.

All this I can do, the problem is I need to be able to allow certain users (for example the Domain Admins) to bypass the proxy server entirely. Can this be done? I have managed to get the server tied to the domain using likewise, but have since ground to a halt!

I would appreciate any ideas - this is the first time I have posted here, so if you need any more info please let me know.

    Many thanks! :)
