I followed the instruction on "http://www.howtoforge.com/squirrelmail_ispconfig" However whenever I go to http://webmail.centrofamiliarnuevavida.org where my squirrelmail should work... nothing happens. Any sugestions? Could it be that when I installed ISPConfig I took all the default options? I noticed that ISPConfig is saving the email addresses under /var/mail. Thank you in advanced for your help! JR
Adriana, I think that you've installed Squirrelmail within the wrong webnumber. Did you install it in /var/www/web1/web/ as described within my howto? web1 is only an example. Check your right webnumber within ISPConfig for your Squirrelmail site.
Hans, What do you mean by "web1 is only an example. Check your right webnumber within ISPConfig for your Squirrelmail site"? Where do I check that? Sorry about the dumb question... I am new to this. thanks! JR
No sorry, if we knew everything, we should not be here To check your webnumber of your webmail.mydomain.tld: Login into ISPConfig >ISP Manager > Choose your website webmail.yourdomain.tld from the structure tree. Then, click on the options tab, where you will see your webnumber. For information: Within your www directory on your server, ISPConfig created a webspace (web) with the name webmail.yourdomain.tld with a symlink to another web(nr).
squirrelmail still not working Hans, I followed your instructions and I guess in order to know my web# I had to create a database because it does not tell you automatically. However it is still not working. I must be the most ignorant guy on this forum but it is not working. Any other sugestion? Do you recommend installing something else instead of squirrelmail? Thanks! JR
Adriana, I have installed, tested and used Squirrelmail myself, before i published my howto. For me it is difficult to see what is not going as how it should be. If you like to use another webmailclient you follow one of these howtos: http://www.howtoforge.com/roundcube_webmail_ispconfig or http://www.howtoforge.com/ilohamail_ispconfig But i guess you will have the same problems, as the setup is almost the same procedure. If you have problems with setting up webmail, you can considder to use the packages provided here: http://www.ispconfig.org/downloads.htm You can install them, using the update manager within ISPConfig. Then you will have a webmail client running on port 81, using Apache 1.3 (same as ISPConfig).
