    Hello

I wonder how I can restrict a user to 1 specific directory. I want to give a friend of mine ready-access to one of my directories but I don't want him to upload anything and I don't want him to sniff on the server...

Oh, he's a windows user and using WinSCP for access.

How can this be done? Anyone knows?

Changing that user's home directory to the one You want to give access to should work plus setting apropriate permissions on that directory and chrootSSH.
He needs to have /bin/bash shell set.

well, I did now install chrooted ssh and it seems to work. However no files can be downloaded although group and world permissions are readable... do they also need to be exec?
