Hey there I hope to be using ISPConfig soon ! The one thing I'm not sure about is if ISPConfig has staging capabilities (mostly simple wordpress sites), I've found all sorts of conflicting info online. I've seen some images of the interface with staging button, some without, I've seen a website that said its possible and some that its not and all info ranges from 2019 till today. Anyone have final input on this ?
ISPConfig is open-source software; some hosters add additional functions in their proprietary versions. The only places where you can find correct info about ISPConfig are the websites ispconfig.org and howtoforge.com, and .de; there is no conflicting info online on any ISPConfig-related site; you just looked at the wrong sites that are about other control panels that are not ISPConfig. A staging website is just another website for testing, so all you have to do in ISPConfig for creating a staging website is to create a second website for a subdomain like staging.yourdomain.tld. You can do this either as separate website or as vhost subdomain in ISPConfig. I have used staging websites in ISPConfig since 2008, by the way.
