Hello People I have a strange problem now , I am not running my own DNS as i have outsourced my DNS, but bind is installed on my system(as ISPConfig wont install) hence isp config recognizes the config. Now when I turn my bind off internet will stop working hence I am not able to send Mails but I do receive mails as I turn it ON every thing works perfect apart from the fact when I try sending email from my hotmail account to my postmaster.xyz.co.uk domain configured on the mail server I keep on getting emails rather unstopped. It can go to 1000's Does any one know where and what I am doing wrong. Do I have to configure Bind for Internet to work!!!! Or it is just a postfix problem.. Please HELP!!!!!
Please check your /etc/resolv.conf and make sure you have some valid external DNS servers configured there and not only your local DNS-Server. By the way, why do you want to deactivate bind? It will slow down your local name resolving if you do that.
Re:Strange Problem Thanks Till for the reply, I did checked my resolv.conf it had 127.0.0.1 i removed that and enterd my ISP's DNS. Unfoturnatly did not work. I would love to disable bind as i dont need it at all. My second problem is Postfix config. I cannot get it right ? Any help
