I've been reading about serving static content from a separate subdomain to optimize load times. I want to create a subdomain(static.example.tld) that has the same web directory as example.tld that is already on my ispconfig3.2 install.
Can I just create the a new site for the static domain and change the webdirectory to the folder of the existing website? Would this work. Or is there a more appropriate approach.

You can create static.example.tld as subdomain or as alias domain
