Is there a way to stop SpamAssassin? Several clients of mine are telling me that alot of mail isn't coming through and i think SpamAssassin is the boogyman here... the --lint option doesn't give any output, so the config is ok. But Spamassassin hangs on several occasions on random mailboxes.
I've disabled the mailscan in the management section of the ISPconfig panel. I presume that this disables it globally?
No, you can not disable it globally. If you removed it globally, only the checkbox will not be shown, mailscan remains active for all accounts were it has been active before if you did not disable it in every account.
Simply rewrite typical executable atachments to non execute format. For security reason. "Enables the virus scanner for this mailbox. Extensions of suspicious attachments (e.g. .exe-files) will be renamed so that they cannot be opened by double-click."
And additionally it sanitizes the email if its in html format, e.g. javascript and other possible insecure html is removed from the email.
I'm sorry. I'd mixed up mailscan and spamassassin... Falko, my customers are telling me that they aren't getting all of the e-mail that are sent to them. Mailscan is turned off on those accounts (it was never on) so that couldn't be the problem. I thought that Spamassassin was the boogyman because it did hang a few times (already a while ago, no more hangs lately). Could it be anything else?
Try change spam rule, if you have discard try change it to TAG. I dont thing spamassassin drop your mails, but if you can search your mail log for delivery information, if message is delivered to your server.
Please make sure that the MX records of your email domains are pointing to your server. Also take a look at the mail log.
