    Hi there,

I was about to switch over to the ISPConfig Server for email, however I am having a problem.

I can send emails via webmail and receive perfectly fine, however when I try to connect to the server via Thunderbird or Outlook I cannot authenticate. Details of what I am doing is

    I have tried

    POP: 10.1.1.5
    smtp 10.1.1.5
    Username www2_user
    Password: whatever

Tick for "Server requires authentication" ticked - using pop password.

Error message is something along the lines of "Cannot authenticate or connect to SMTP server".

    Please help!

    Regards,

    Fixed

    Hi all,

I have fixed this. I found a post to a similar fault with Falko suggesting entering the following commands:

    postconf -e 'home_mailbox = Maildir/'
    postconf -e 'mailbox_command ='
    /etc/init.d/postfix restart

I am not sure why this fixed it and would be keen to hear but it fixed it!

    Thanks

    Dom
