I am running ISPConfig 2.2.40 and I am running into an issue where I want to assign different site.domain.net co-domains to multiple ISPConfig site entries (site1.domain.net, site2.domain.net, site3.domain.net, etc.) but cannot.

"domain.net" is the same for every site, but the sub-domain changes (site1, site2, site3).

I get this error - "The Domain belongs to another client"

Please check the Co-Domain tabs to make sure your subdomains aren't already in use.

    It is not.

I even tried to create a gibberish domain like kjdhsfklj.domain.net and I get the message - "The Domain belongs to another client".

In ISPConfig 2, a domain is assigned to a client incl. all of its subdomains to ensure that no client grabs subdomains of a another client. So you cannot create a subdomain of the same domain under a different client.
