There are lots of tutorials on basic Samba. How about an advanced one that supports a real environment? I'm running Linux servers that provide enterprise users on Windows with filesharing. It needs to work reliably, play well with Windows, and support end-users to support themselves as much as possible. I'm reluctant to go the Samba PDC route, so I'm hoping for a less Windows-centric solution. In particular, there needs to be some form of authentication that: - separates host users from Samba share users - allows web mgmt, or at least web password changes This might involve a MySQL (hopefully) or LDAP server for auth info, and some careful configuration to get the Windows networking working smoothly.
