Hello, I use ISPConfig 3.2.10p2 on Debian 11. Until now I use classic backups on an external mount point to save websites and mailboxes. I think about switching to Borg backups to have incremental backups, which should allow shorter time for backups especially for big websites. Before doing that, there are some question I have: I think so but to be sure, if I change backup mode do I have to empty my actual backup space? Can I still use my mount point for borg repository? I read on this forum it is not possible to specify a remote repository but wish to know if my remote mount point could be used as a borg repository as it was local? Mail inboxes I set to be backed up will also be using Borg? Thanks.
No need to empty the backup space. Should be no problem to have it remotely mounted, but testing will give you a def answer. If you set mailboxes to be backed up with Borg, yes.
Are you sure about that? Afaik there is an issue opened about adding Borg backup to support mailboxes as well. https://git.ispconfig.org/ispconfig/ispconfig3/-/issues/6402
