Synchronizing IMAP folders and subfolders

I'm using fetchmail to direct emails from an email account into an ISPConfig created mailbox.
I am not having any trouble routing emails from one inbox to the other. However, none of the folders are being synchronized to the ISPConfig mailbox. Also, when I create a subfolder in the ISPConfig inbox from Outlook, that also does not appear to synchronize. Roundcube also does not show any folders that I create or from the other email account.
Can someone please direct me to instructions on how to enable folder/subfolder support?

 

First thing that comes to mind is that you might not use imap but pop instead. The pop protocol does not support folder sync

 

Thank you for responding. I figured it out. The ISPconfig mailbox does not like it when there are subfolders in the inbox. I moved the subfolders out to the same level as inbox and that solved the issue.
