I'd like to see an application similar to window washer for linux that will clean the system.

I've emailed Pawel Stolowski the creator of KleanSweep and asked if it can be configured to perform similar tasks as window washer, which after taking a look at it I think it can be. You have to run it as root and that scares me a bit, I'll wait for his response before I scrap out my install
