If I add a subdomain of mysub.mydomain.com , is it possible to send emails to a subdomain if and mx record is created for it?

    [email protected] ?

When I log in as root through a shell, debian lenny reports "You have mail". What is the easiest way to read this mail?

    Thanks

Sure, you can receiuve emails with any domain or subdomain. Just add ist as maildomain and create mailboxe for it.

you can e.g. use a commandline mail client like elm which access the mailbox file directly.

    Thanks Till

I had some difficulty installing elm so in the end I installed mutt using aptitude.

It worked a treat - seemed the system emails were reports from rkhunter.

    Thanks
