Telnet

If I have a LAMP server is it then correct that Telnet is like SSH, you have to install it to have it?

So if I haven't knowingly installed Telnet on my server I don't have to worry about it?

 

Use SSH, not telnet. Telnet is not encrypted and therefore unsafe.

 

Of course that's why I'm asking "So if I haven't knowingly installed Telnet on my server I don't have to worry about it?"

So that Telnet doesn't come bundled with apache or Debian or something like that, like SSH I have to install it to have it, right?

 

Usually telnet doesn't get installed automatically nowadays.
