Hi, I would appreciate if anyone can help setting up the following - Install Terminal Server (LTSP5) on Ubuntu 8.04 x64 (or debian 4) on two identical physical servers so that if one fails the other continues to service the thin clients. Installation of Ubuntu 8.04 with LTSP5 (or debian) on one server is not a problem. The idea is to have real-time redundancy should one fail. Earlier, we would have something called mirror servers (Novell Netware 3.x and 4x) whereby the two servers were always in identical 'state'. First question: Is this possible now? Second: Does this require specific hardware / software? (Netware did) Third: Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.
There is a tutorial about on the link: https://wiki.edubuntu.org/EdubuntuDHCPload-balancingFailover I know that with the same tutorial is set up the Mäntykankaan School (Finland) ltsp solution. It is described here: http://wiki.ubuntu-fi.org/LTSP5_M%C3%A4ntykankaan_koulu I hope this helps
