Your issue was just caused by these two wrong lines, if you editad any others ettings, e.g. in main.cf, then undo these changes.
The file is still wrong. Now you removed # in front of smtps, which is good. But you still missed to remove it in front of the submission line.
Yes, it was the second #submission line and apparently it's now configured somewhat correctly. But I'm not able to send or receive email, probably because of network problems: ports status: Code: PORT STATE SERVICE 21/tcp open ftp 22/tcp open ssh 25/tcp open smtp 53/tcp open domain 80/tcp open http 110/tcp open pop3 143/tcp open imap 443/tcp open https 465/tcp open smtps 587/tcp open submission 993/tcp open imaps 995/tcp open pop3s 8080/tcp open http-proxy 8081/tcp open blackice-icecap mail.log: Code: Jan 10 18:17:57 server postfix/smtp[19068]: connect to gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com[2a00:1450:4008:c01::1a]:25: Network is unreachable Jan 10 18:18:03 server postfix/smtp[19049]: connect to gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com[173.194.71.26]:25: Connection timed out Jan 10 18:18:03 server postfix/smtp[19049]: connect to gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com[2a00:1450:4008:c01::1a]:25: Network is unreachable Jan 10 18:18:03 server postfix/smtp[19049]: connect to alt1.gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com[2a00:1450:4008:c01::1b]:25: Network is unreachable Jan 10 18:18:27 server postfix/smtp[19068]: connect to gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com[173.194.71.26]:25: Connection timed out Jan 10 18:18:27 server postfix/smtp[19068]: connect to alt1.gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com[2a00:1450:4008:c01::1b]:25: Network is unreachable Jan 10 18:18:33 server postfix/smtp[19049]: connect to alt1.gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com[173.194.64.26]:25: Connection timed out Jan 10 18:18:33 server postfix/smtp[19049]: connect to alt2.gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com[2a00:1450:4008:c01::1b]:25: Network is unreachable Jan 10 18:18:33 server postfix/smtp[19049]: 9EFF4840E3A: to=<[email protected]>, relay=none, delay=588, delays=527/0.03/61/0, dsn=4.4.1, status=deferred (connect to alt2.gmail-smtp-in.$ Can it be the ISP blocking it? If yes, is there any other method to bypass that?
postfix tries to connect to gmail with ipv6, maybe there is a problem with the ipv6 network of your provider. try to add this line at the end of postfix main.cf inet_protocols=ipv4 and restart postfix to switch it to ipv4 only.
Thanks for the patiency and suggestions, but didn't help. seems as if your provider blocks outgoing connections on port 25 then. do you have smtp server login details from your provider (from a mailbox at your provider)? Then you can try to set the smtp server of your provider as relay server under system > server config > mail. postfix will then try to send the emails trough the smtp server of your provider instead of contacting google / hotmail directly.
