I've been using kde for about 3 years but I find kde4 not intuitive. I d/l ubuntu 9.04 but was unable to view BBC videos (or have sesame street running for my grand kids).
UNTIL I came across this How to
    Many thanks.
    Just a coupke of questions:
I am used to using amarok to listen to Radio.vezdelin.net:8000/tango.m3u.
But now it uses mplayer and there is no information as to what is playing.
Is there a way to force amarok to handle this site?( or get mplayer to show the data)

When using "quick search" to find packages there are almost always a number of apps that are listed.
Should I always pick the one listed at the top of the window?
The names are frequently not very helpful.
Very many thanks for your How To.
The information available for Ubuntu seems to greatly exceeds that for Kubuntu

    You can open Amarok manually.

No, take a look at the package descriptions and then make your choice.

thank you for a very quick response.
Given the extreme amount of detail that you supply in your beautiful "How To", I find the brevity of:
    You can open Amarok manually.
    surprising.
Could you point me to a site which explains how to do what you suggest?
    Very many thanks
( and I see that you have a How To for debian which will perhaps eliminate the belief that installing it is not too easy)

Just launch Amarok, and then you can open the URL in it (don't know the exact menu entry).
