As stated in Till's post i ran through all of the below in order to migrate my rooted centos ispconfig to a secure installation
    centos 5.8 old server
    centos 5.11 new server

But unfortunately i am not getting it working, when i login to ispconfig, and goto the tools tab, i only have the option for resyncing dns, and nothing else.
not sure what i did wrong, but it is not working.
i did try importing the old database dbispconfig
    no luck.

The reync-tool in 3.0.x shows you everything. Did you install the dev-3.1? I change the resync-tool in 3.1. This version shows you only the active services for resync.

    This Version: 3.0.4.3

only shows Resync DNS records, and when i try to do it, it says
    ERROR

    1. No zones found to sync.

what steps should i take to verify everything?

when i try to run the htf-common-issues.php i get a call to undefined function gethostname() on line 149

so my ispconfig can create new ftp users and login as that user. but if i try to edit a previously made user (one that was from the import) ie change the password, and try to login, it does not let me login.
