    Would it be a problem to install the ubuntu-desktop after I installed the basic minimal installation of Ubuntu 14.10?
    Reason: then I can copy and paste the commands from the guide.

    This wont be a problem but it will use much ram and slow down your server. Copy/pasting commands can be done without a desktop.

    Install the program putty on the desktop that you are working on. Putty is available for several os incl. windows. Then open the tutorial in your browser and copy the command, go toputty and make a right click with the mouse, this will paste the command to your server and when you hit return, then it gets executed.
