Setting up a new server / machine to replace my 18.4 Ubuntu and I'm following the tutorial at https://www.howtoforge.com/tutorial...l-pureftpd-bind-postfix-doveot-and-ispconfig/ IO have got as far as the edit the fstab stage and I kleep gedtting errors thrown at me eg :- no matter what line I amend. My unedited fstab is as follows :- Code: # /etc/fstab: static file system information. # # Use 'blkid' to print the universally unique identifier for a # device; this may be used with UUID= as a more robust way to name devices # that works even if disks are added and removed. See fstab(5). # # <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass> # / was on /dev/ubuntu-vg/ubuntu-lv during curtin installation /dev/disk/by-id/dm-uuid-LVM-6PtCSasC0FoqydeRNoQu44c97LzjXglqe67K7DpL7gd3mlvgqCcESzI2oZZwKj0y / ext4 defaults 0 0 # /boot was on /dev/sda2 during curtin installation /dev/disk/by-uuid/595ec762-fbb9-42ba-95f8-7354f99b9240 /boot ext4 defaults 0 0 # /boot/efi was on /dev/sda1 during curtin installation /dev/disk/by-uuid/3538-8528 /boot/efi vfat defaults 0 0 /swap.img none swap sw 0 0 Any advice?
Run Code: cat -v /etc/fstab This should show characters causing problems. Also, you might want to take a look at the new guide on installing a Perfect Server with the official autoinstaller: https://www.howtoforge.com/ispconfig-autoinstall-debian-ubuntu/
Thanks for that, however it tells me nothing, still getting an error no matter which line I amend. The tutorial may may need looking at to cover fstab like mine - which honestly I haven't seen one like it before and I've been using Ubuntu since version 12 I try the automated install if I get nowhere with the fstab
