Guys, I've setup the following, which I call SpamSnake. The Perfect SpamSnake – Postfix w/Bayesian Filtering and Anti-Backscatter (Relay Recipients), Apache, Mysql, Bind, MailScanner (Spamassassin, ClamAV, Pyzor, Razor, DCC-Client), MailWatch, SPF, FuzzyOCR, PDF/XLS/Phishing Sanesecurity Signatures, Postfix-gld (Greylisting Optional), Logwatch Statistical Reporting(Optional), Outgoing Disclaimer with alterMIME (Optional) It serves as a mail gateway, between the inet and my Exchange 2003 Server. It can be used for both inbound and outbound emails. I was considering adding Rulesdujour to it, but read somewhere that sa-update replaced it. Can someone please verify this? Thanks, Rocky
Yes, RulesDuJour is deprecated, sa-update is now the preferred way. Have you thought about writing a tutorial about this?
I would certainly like to see a guide on this too as a client of ours exchange server is processing tens of thousands of spam a day and the performance impact is huge.
Hey, Thanks for the reply. To be honest, I used quite a few bits and pieces from the tutorials that you guys already have. THANKS HOWTOFORGE. I have documented my install and will certainly send it to anyone who wants it. I am currently revising it and as soon as I'm done, I will send it out. If anyone is interested, you can pm me. Thanks, Rocky
It would be great if you could zip the tutorial (incl. images, if any) and send it to me: ft [at] falkotimme [dot] com
Falko, I sent you a copy of my tutorial. Please have a look at it and let me know if anything can be improved or if anything needs to be taken out. Any improvements would be greatly appreciated. Update: My tutorial has now been updated to Ubuntu 8.04 with MailScanner 4.68.8. Regards, Rocky
