I plan to create a third name server and locate that separate from the other servers. Can ISPConfig support this?
The multiserver setup is running on virtual hosts on the same physical host. I plan to have this extra server far away, so one name server is working even when the cluster is down. If I get some pc box at my office and install debian and ISPConfig on it, is it possible to add it to ISPConfig multiserver setup as name server? I can get a fixed IP address for that pc, I'll arrange this with the internet provider.

Yes, that's possible. Install ISPConfig on the server, choose expert mode during install and join your existing master server. If this is a dns only server, select only dns service during expert install. Then login to ispconfig on the master and choose that this new server is a mirror of your existing primary dns.
