I've got a customer who has a cpanel backup and would like to save the mail. I believe cpanel uses maildir as well, what's the best way I can transfer this mail to a new ispconfig users?

If thats' not possible, is it possible to transfer the email to another cpanel user instead? I want to be able to move just the mail and not restore the whole website.

    Thanks

I'am not that familar with cpanel, but if cpanel stores the email files in maildir format, it should be enough to copy the files into a maildir of a email user in ispconfig.

Thanks for the quick response Till. From what I've seen it looks like maildir directories, so I'll try just copying and see if that work. Just so it dosent get mixed up into the other emails, is it safe to create a new email folder for that user, then copy the emails into that folder? I assume it should work the same way. I guess I'll have to try and see :)

For a first test, i would create a complete new email user and use his maildir for testing.
