Trouble setting the hostname ...

We just got a new VPS set up with the wrong hostname, so I've been trying to update it since last night. The server is CentOS 5.2, so I've tried updating /etc/sysconfig/network, /etc/hosts, and by using the hostname and dnsdomainname commands, then restarting the network and httpd services, but after doing so, error pages (or at least 400 bad request) still show the old host. When I reboot, all the changes I've made disappear...?

Oh, and I had reset the host in ISPConfig, too ... that's the only change that seems to be sticking. I can access the control panel via the new subdomain.domain.com host, but as I said, the error pages still show the old host, so something is up, and I can see that after I reboot the machine thinks it is the old host again.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

If its a vps, then it might be that the host is set by the virtualisation software. Please contact the admin of the server and ask him to change the hostname in the virtualisation software too.
