I;m using Virtual Mail users Postfix how to guide on Ubuntu Server 12.04 LTS. Today apt-get upgrade offered me an update to libmysqlclient18 - namely libmysqlclient18.1. After the upgrade the connection to mysql was broken: postfix/cleanup[24434]: warning: proxy:mysql:/etc/postfix/mysql-virtual_forwardings.cf lookup error for "XXX@XXXX" postfix/cleanup[24434]: warning: 5CEF53804A1: virtual_alias_maps map lookup problem for XXXX -- deferring delivery authdaemond: failed to connect to mysql server (server=XXXX, userid=XXXX): Connection using old (pre-4.1.1) authentication protocol refused (client option 'secure_auth' enabled) As a temporary solution I have reverted to old versions of packages: apt-get install libmysqlclient18=5.5.34-0ubuntu0.12.04.1 libmysqlclient-dev=5.5.34-0ubuntu0.12.04.1
