I have my Averatec 3260/3280 Laptop (there's two labels on the back) dual-booting Ubuntu 6.06 and Windows XP, however, in Ubuntu, no matter what tutorial I follow, I can't get my Wireless to work. I have located and installed the driver using ndiswrapper, but when I try to run the configuration code,
    Code:
sudo iwconfig wlan0 essid "AP" key ababababababababab mode Managed
I can never get it to work because I don't know what my wireless device is, which should go where it says wlan0. Also, my network doesn't have a key, so I usually leave out the part with "key ababababababababab." My input usually looks like
    Code:
sudo iwconfig [RANDOM DEVICE NAME GUESS] essid "MyESSID" mode Managed
Any idea what I should do?

Maybe it's a good idea to wait for Ubuntu Feisty. It will have much better WiFi support.

Thanks! That sounds good! Do you have any idea when it might be available? I don't want to leave my laptop with half the HDD partitioned for a system I'm not using until then. ^_^

Woah! Thanks! I really appreciate it! ;D

I just want to say that this is the most helpful forum I've ever been in. Most other sites would just ignore my questions, and leave me to fend for myself. Thanks again!
