Hi, I am new to this forum, trying to learn linux, got a brand new machine with windows vista formatted it and loaded RHEL 5, the internet was working fine when the windows vista was on it, but after installing RHEL i am unable to access the internet, went through a lot of forums searching for answers, was unable to fix it. The machine is connected to a ethernet which is attached to a router. There is another laptop which is connected to the same router and its working fine (OS: Windows XP). Things i have done till now trying to fix the problem. Added nameserver 4.2.2.1 to the resolv.conf file, added default gateway as 192.168.1.1 after checking it in windows, also added the subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 after checking it in windows. Please guys help me with this. Let me know if i have to provide any files for troubleshooting. Thanks
