Choose your editor # nano /etc/sysconfig/rkhunter # vi /etc/sysconfig/rkhunter # vim /etc/sysconfig/rkhunter #nano /etc/cron.daily/rkhunter #vi /etc/cron.daily/rkhunter #vim /etc/cron.daily/rkhunter Change e-mail address to existing one. Save file and close. Advise: Please remember that rkhunter will try to send e-mail via mailx as root@hostname Type hostname in terminal and you will see your hostname. example: root@localhost or root@mail dot example dot com So, just set an alias for root as I did in my postfix+dovecot configuration and all e-mails sent from and to root@localhost are forwarded to a real e-mail address.
I just decided to answer it, because this post is on a first place in Google, when someone is looking for the solution to find out how to solve the problem. Have no idea why it was ignored so long. Anyway I hope it will be usefull for others. And just because I have my own website where I learn how to make first step in Linux I try to help if I can.
