On a server I've been getting some undeliverable emails bounce. doubt its anything important but curious as to WHO is complaining?
the sending server is ns1.qhscares.com root emails via alias should go to me ([email protected])
I get bouncebacks at myaddress above:

This is the mail system at host ns1.qhscares.com.

I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not
be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below.

For further assistance, please send mail to postmaster.

If you do so, please include this problem report. You can
delete your own text from the attached returned message.

The mail system

<[email protected]>: Host or domain name not found. Name service
error for name=localhost.qhscares.com type=AAAA: Host not found

now the domain is correct. why does localhost get appended? I have a line in aliases at the end saying root emails could go to my email address.
root myemail@mydomain.
but instead its getting bounced back to me (I get the bounce at [email protected])
so the bounceback goes to the right address -- (not on the originating server) - but my who is sending anything to localhost.etc?
which files do I need to examine?

nevermind I think. it seems rkhunter is sending the emails. the daily cron has rkhunter sending
MAILTO root@localhost

:)
