Unexpected Server Notification Behaviour

    ISPConfig 3.2.11p2
    Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS

System -> Server Config -> Server -> Send email to admin starting with the following level: I have set this to errors only
System -> Main Config -> Mail: I have filled Admin E-Mail and Name as well as an SMTP Server with all details to send messages from.

My expectation would be to get only error messages delivered to my email inbox now. This is however not working. I don't get any messages at all. All server notifications such as unattended-upgrades, cron or rkhunter are delivered locally to root. I had to add my email in /etc/aliases to get mails delivered. I now get all messages addressed to root regardless of the message level I have set in the ISPconfig notification settings (rkunter and cron are sending me messages daily).

Furthermore, I like to get a different message levels for unattended-upgrades, but I can't input an email address in /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/50unattended-upgrades. ISPConfig seems to overwrite the email address added in there with root (local delivery).

Could someone please tell me how to fix this? I am not sure if this is a bug or I did something wrong. Any input would be appreciated.

rkhunter and cron are not ISPConfig, so the error level you set for ISPConfig does not apply to them.

ISPConfig is not overwriting this file. It is set only once in case you use the auto-installer. ISPConfig itself is not touching it at all.
