I followed the howto on building VirtualBox from the sources before I realized that I couldn't use USB devices or share folders. I would like to uninstall VirtualBox cleanly, then re-install it from the pre-compiled binaries. How can I get my current installation out cleanly? Thanks!
That will be difficult - I think the VirtualBox placed its files in various locations. But you could simply try to install the pre-compiled binaries (without previously deleting the current VirtualBox installation).
Thanks, Falco. I worked backwards and manually removed as much as I could find. Then, when I tried installing the binaries, it found and removed some additional pieces, replacing them with the new installation. Everything seems to be working great.
