Need to urgently update small ISPCOnfig server from Ubuntu 22.04-24.04. Current server is stable and working well thought not optimally configured. I'd allocated a website to the host following to enable mail.host.com and smtp.host.com for the mail server resulting in letsencrypt certificate issues. I'd also made a mess in a previous migration some years ago between acme and certbot.
I can either update OS release in situ or migrate to a different physical server.
Which is best? Should I fix the previous errors. If so how?

LE errors can always be fixed. So you created a website for the server hostname to replace the SSL cert that ISPConfig created for the system with the certificate of this website for the mail system? Which exact steps did you use?

I followed a Howtoforge tutorial around 5 years ago about creating smtp.server.org, imap.server.org, mail.server.org and host.mailserver.org. I suspect creating host.server.org was my error. Currently, on your advice for some time ago, the server has symlinks to certificates and that has been working well. Its just that given the opportunity to move to a new server and update the OS, iit seems time to fix my previous mess.
