I am running a server behind a router and I have set my A records through GoDaddy.com to the address of the router. But then I woke up this morning and the address of the router changed. I have no-ip installed and it updates and sets bjdowns.redirectme.net to the address of the router, but I cannot set the A records to point at bjdowns.redirectme.net it wants an actual ip address. Is there a better program or way I should be doing this? I really want my A records to update automatically whenever my router's ip address changes.

    Thanks

You can do this with CNAME records.

So would I change my A records all to CNAMES?

Would I change my MX records to point at the bjdowns.redirectme.net ?

    Yes.

Yes, if bjdowns.redirectme.net is an A record. MX records must always point to A records.

Ok, they all seem to work except @. The A record that allows me to type http://cougforlife.com (without the www) I can't create as a CNAME. It won't let me create it as a CNAME and therefore I can't point it at bjdowns.redirectme.net.

    How can I fix this?

    Thanks

I'd ask GoDaddy why this happens.
