Hi there ya'll. I was wondering if anyone has tried (or has any insight) on upgrading ubuntu from 9.10 to 10.04 and if ISPConfig still works as expected.
Here is what I posted in another thread of my experience so far: On my test server everything works fine but mydns. Seems as though libmysqlclient.so.15 is removed and upgraded, maybe instead of removing the old files (not the ones I told Ubuntu to not change) would solve this. I am either going to try and start over w/ Karmic and do another upgrade, or try and find the package(as of yet no luck). Edit/Delete Message
Hmm, were you prompted to have those files removed/updated? Or was that just something that was done by the installation?
There is a cleanup after the installation and it had quite a few files in there that Ubuntu would remove. You could choose to keep or remove, and I (for some reason) chose remove. As of right now I cannot find the file needed even in synaptic.
Hmm, well I suppose that I can give it a try. @Falko or Till, I noticed that in the latest perfect server for 10.04 you use bind as opposed to MyDNS. How can we make this transition without losing any of our current data?
A ISPConfig 3 perfect server guide will most likely be released next week when we finished the last tests.
Cool Till. Will there be any documentation on upgrading your server from 9.10 to 10.04? I'm sure there are some changes that will have to be noted when you do (as primal23 has mentioned).
Okay, cool. So I see that Ubuntu 10.04 does run bind now. How would we go about changing over from 9.10 to 10.04 with ISPConfig 3? http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-server-ubuntu-10.04-lucid-lynx-ispconfig-3
Do I need to install bind after upgrading? Or will everything still work fine w/out? So far no problems on the test server, but being just a test server it doesn't get the use of the main obviously lol.
Hi, can someone post his experience with upgrade please? In a near future I'll have to upgrade one server with ISPConfig 2.2.37 from 9.10 to 10.04. I appreciated any information about possibly upgrade issues. SupuS
