Hi All I need to upgrade a Debian 9 server using ISPConfig 3.2.8p1 to Debian 11 What would be the best way to upgrade to Debian 11, I have seven working sites on it. or would it be best to backup all the emails to a usb stick and then do a fresh install of debian 11 and then copy the emails back? as the websites and database's can be restored Cheers Scorp
Do the backup first, no matter what. Then upgrade Debian 9 to Debian 10, following instructions from Debian Release Notes: https://www.debian.org/releases/buster/releasenotes. go through ISPConfig perfect server guide for ISPCOnfig 3.2 and Debian 10 do ispconfig_update.sh --force and let it reconfigure services. Then upgrade Debian 10 to Debian 11, there is nice document for that: https://forum.howtoforge.com/thread...ect-server-from-debian-10-to-debian-11.88509/ That is quite a bit of work, so consider alternative: Install a new system with Debian 11 and ISPConfig 3.2. Then use ISPConfig Migration Toolkit to copy all data over from old system to new. This requires both systems must be up and running at the same time. Once you have checked the new system is OK you can dispose of the old.
