    Hi everyone

I need to upgrade harware as soon as possible. When I installed ISPConfig the first time I made a complete clone of the hard drive so in case something goes wrong I still have a complete installation.

I have now added this drive to the server box and it boots up and runs with no problems.

I also need to upgrade to the newest ISPConfig version... Because I am a very paranoid person I'm too afraid to update ISPConfig on my production server.

So I figgured I would run the update on the clone I made...

What would be the best course of action here?

First I need to move all the new domains and websites to the clone server... I assume ISPConfig has some sort of import/restore system?

Should I move all the sites first and then update? Or should I update the clone system to a new ISPConfig version first and then move everything over?

How do you go about when installing new hardware and upgrading to a new ISPConfig server?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards Julian

No, you can not move the setup this way. I recommend that you make a new clone.

The update of ISPConfig is really easy.

    1) Make a backup of /root/ispconfig, /home/admispconfig and the ISPConfig mysql database.
    2) Download the latest ispconfiig version and run the setup script.

In case anything goes wrong, just srestore the backup from 1).
