My Astrix server that I'm using in my house has only got USB connectors.
I want to add a GSM modem to it, but this modem has only got a RS232 (serial port) connector.

Anyone here who knows of an USB to serial cable converter that will work with Cent OS?

    Thank you.

There is a lot of them in market.
Just byu one and plug into usb. The module pl2303 should be loaded by kernel and /dev/ttyUSBx should apper. Thats all.
If not, put it away and buy another one.

I've bought some time ago one and it does not work with linux kernel, then I bought another one, which works perfectly.

    Best regards, Adam

Usually there is no name/number ;-(
Find something with word "Linux" on the package, or go with laptopo to the shop and ask for permission to try before buy.
    Thats all I can advise.
