    Hi,
I have deleted an user and afterwards I have emptied the trashbin but ISPConfig still don't let me use the same username, I had this behavior once before and I've solved it with taking a different username but in this case I can't change it. Please tell me where can the leftovers of an unclean user delition reside.
    Thanx a lot!

I have also rebooted the box and checked the folowing filles for the deleted user: /etc/passwd, /etc/shadow, /etc/group, Vhosts_ispconfig.conf, /etc/postfix/virtusertable but there is no user with the same name like the deleted one. Everything seems to be ok but I'm still not able to take the deleted username again.

Is the user listed in /home/admispconfig/ispconfig/users?

Then you should remove the user from the file /home/admispconfig/ispconfig/users. This file is there to prevent ISPConfig from overwriting existing linux users that have not been created with ISPConfig.
