Those are not the user credentials of the virtual image installation. You did not say where you got that vm image. At end very end of ISPConfig installation manuals, the place where download link for the image is shown, are also the usernames and passwords.
Like @Taleman mentioned, the login details are explained at the end of the install guides. the SSH login is typically: user: administrator password: howtoforge The user has sudo permission. The ISPconfig login is: user: admin password: howtoforge
