Don't know about 1.1 but I use .95 and the info on how to do it is in the comments at the bottom of the article you mentioned:

    Great guide thanks :)
Btw. I found no problems keeping the larry theme.
However the stable release of roundcube is rather outdated. To install 0.9.5 version I added to
    /etc/apt/sources.list:
    # Backports repository
    deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian wheezy-backports main contrib non-free

Then run to install Roundcube 0.9.5
    aptitude update
    aptitude -t wheezy-backports install roundcube roundcube-plugins roundcube-plugins-extra

I was able to upgrade from roundcube 0.8.5 to roundcube 1.1.1 following these steps:

    1) wget https://downloads.sourceforge.net/p...ail/1.1.1/roundcubemail-1.1.1-complete.tar.gz
    2) tar xf roundcubemail-1.1.1-complete.tar.gz
    3) cd roundcubemail-1.1.1
    4) bin/installto.sh /var/www/apps/roundcube
    5) Upgrading from 0.8.5. Do you want to continue? (y/N) y
    6) Do you want me to fix your local configuration? (y/N) y
    7) This instance of Roundcube is up-to-date.
    Have fun!
    All done.

Does 1.1.1 work with the Roundcube plugins for ISPConfig (password, autoresponder, etc)?

You may use any webmail app with ispconfig that either supports imap or pop3 mail protocol.
