i have been having problems keeping a static ip on verizons router. when i first install fresh ubuntu 12.10 and ispconfig3 and set a static ip everything works as it should. as time goes by the router changes from my hostname to just my ip. i cant port forward to my ip. any suggestions?
It shouldnt matter. Your DNS handles all that. Just make sure you server is actually assigned a public wan with the corresponding dns servers for the actual ISP.
